Learning and development

Our aim is to ensure that opportunities are available to all our people to have the right development, at the right time. All development opportunities will be delivered using an engaging interactive style. Future learning and development programmes will focus on the following approaches:

• action learning ‘sets’
• external qualifications
• short external courses
• on the job coaching
• lunchtime briefings.
In particular we will focus our development programmes on strengthening our ability to deliver our values.

Induction
Every new employee attends a one day corporate induction within their first month, to familiarise themselves with what we do and how we work.
My personal review and development plan
All employees will be given time at a number of points in the year to spend with their manager to review their personal performance against objectives and values and to create a personal development plan.

Promotions and transfers
Our company is constantly changing. From time-to-time we need to make changes to the way we work. This sometimes involves either new jobs being created or current ones being changed. We are committed to supporting you as our business changes.
Sabbatical leave
Employees with five or seven years service will be entitled to apply for a sabbatical leave break for the purpose of personal development, travel or following outside interests.
Apprenticeships
We are committed to developing a pipeline of talent throughout the organisation, and apprenticeships are a key element of this.
