Equalities

We recognise and value the diversity of our residents and staff. We have a duty as an employer, service provider and community leader to eliminate discrimination and promote equalities.

This commitment is outlined in our Equalities framework 2008-2011, which includes our equal opportunities policy in employment and services. The framework also includes a number of equality schemes required by law, including our:

  • Race equality scheme
  • Disability equality scheme
  • Gender equality scheme

Equalities framework - summary

A summary of the CityWest Homes Equalities Framework can be downloaded below.

Equalities - performance

Our performance against equalities targets is measured and reported in a number of ways, including:

  • Quarterly equalities briefings
  • Annual reports
  • Equality impact assessments

Annual reports

Our performance on equalities and diversity is reported annually to the CityWest Homes board.

Equality impact assessments (EIA)

An EIA is a thorough and systematic analysis of a policy, procedure, or process. The primary function of the EIA should be to determine the extent of the differential impact upon relevant equality groups.

We have developed a generic model for equality impact assessments in conjunction with Westminster City Council.
