CityWest Homes and Microsoft UK join forces to give Pimlico estate a makeover

Residents living on the Ebury Bridge estate in Pimlico have benefited from a one-day makeover after staff from CityWest Homes and Microsoft UK joined forces to give parts of the estate a ‘facelift.’

Together the team repainted the estate’s large boundary wall and planted new trees and shrubs.

Eleven employees from the local Microsoft office in Victoria took part in the one day event.  Microsoft’s UK employees are actively encouraged to volunteer in their local communities and are granted three volunteering days a year as additional leave to support charitable works.

Ebury Bridge resident Mr Aly Valli said: "A fabulous job was done on Friday particularly painting the wall separating the train tracks. Well done and thank you."

Mike Wilson, community development officer said: “It has been a really fun day. It was great to work alongside staff from Microsoft UK on such a sunny spring day.

“The difference the lick of paint has made to the estate wall is amazing – its looks really fresh and clean – a lovely spring makeover!”

Josh Golbert, account manager from Microsoft UK said:  “We were really pleased to take part in this worthy event.  They say charity begins at home and being residents of Westminster it feels good to take an active role in the improvement of a local estate.”
