Great Communities Day 2011
WHAT: The CityWest Homes Great Communities Day 2011 will take place on Vincent Street, Grosvenor and Regency estate, SW1 on Saturday 3 September between 1pm and 4pm.
Residents from across Westminster are invited to attend our first street party.
Activities on offer include free face painting, a children’s entertainer, fairground rides, sports coaching, arts and crafts, a petting farm and a show by Safari Pete at 2pm.
Families will also be able to enjoy live music from bands 'Nothing Serious' and ‘The Estimators’, as well as a DJ. An over 50s tea dance has been organised in conjunction with Indeep, a local community group.
A 'wellbeing zone' has also been set up offering free head and shoulder massages, health checks, gardening advice, and the chance to make your own healthy drink using a ‘smoothie bike’.
Westminster Council's Lord Mayor, Councillor Susie Burbridge, will be attending the event to present prizes to the winners of the CityWest Homes Great Communities Awards.
These awards recognise and celebrate voluntary work carried out in Westminster. All up for an award were nominated by their neighbours.
The event is being held in conjunction with Tate Britain and Millbank Estate Management Organisation.
