Hallfield has a whole lot of fun

More than 200 Westminster residents living on the Hallfield estate in Bayswater were treated to a day of activity and entertainment last Saturday at their annual estate fun day.

Activities included a local steel band, live music, zumba dancers, fairground rides, beauty treatments and face painting.

Highlight of the day came in the eight-year old form of local resident and Sylvia Young Theatre student, Drew Blackwell, who wowed the crowd with his Michael Jackson-like dance routine in the ‘Westminster’s Got Talent’ competition.

Rose Cleary, chairperson of the Hallfield residents association, was thrilled with how the event turned out. She said: “A big thank you to everyone in the estate office for organising a great day. The staff do go the extra mile which really helps the whole community.”

Fasil Raja, Bayswater village manager for CityWest Homes, said: “We came up with the idea of having a fun day a few years ago, after local residents had concerns about relations between the younger and older communities. This year our aim was to encourage stronger relations with our residents, and have some fun at the same time.”
