Lillington and Longmoore residents invited to take part in management plan

We are inviting residents of the Lillington and Longmoore Gardens estate to an exhibition to give them an opportunity to express their views on how the Grade 2 listed estate is maintained in the future.

Thanks to 10,000 of funding from English Heritage, CityWest Homes has been able to develop a ‘conservation management plan’ to help ensure that any maintenance work required in the future remains sympathetic to the estate’s heritage.

Once the plan is adopted, it will become the basis for a rolling programme of maintenance and building works. The plan will also encourage good practices so that conservation is managed.

CityWest Homes project team leader John Griffiths says, “It’s important for us to involve the people who live on Lillington and Longmoore and get their views about how the estate is managed and maintained while preserving the estate’s heritage.

“Lillington Gardens is a special place and we’re keen to work with residents, English Heritage, Westminster Council’s planning department and Twentieth Century Society to keep it that way.”

The exhibition is taking place on 1 February 2011 at 6.00pm in the Lillington and Longmoore community hall, Morgan House, Lillington Gardens estate, SW1.

CityWest Homes’ project team and English Heritage architects, MDRA, will be on hand to present information and take questions and feedback.
