Lillington and Longmoore wave the Green Flag Award high for the fifth year in a row
Lillington and Longmoore estate, Pimlico, has once again been recognised as one of the best parks in the country. For the fifth year in a row, they have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award, a sign to visitors that the park is well-maintained and well-managed, with excellent facilities.
Lillington and Longmoore estate is one of a record number of 1,288 parks and green spaces who were awarded the Green Flag and Community Award this year, indicating that the value of green space is widely acknowledged as vital to communities.
Alison Weller, green spaces manager, CityWest Homes, said: “I am proud of the work the Green Spaces team has put in over the years to achieve the award. This means we have the same high standards as many other green spaces across the country. Our team will continue to work to meet the many criteria specified by the award, such as encouraging community participation and biodiversity.”
All award-winning sites now have the chance to receive a further award from the Green Flag Plus Partnership: the People’s Choice Award. This award is voted for by the public, so if you want to see Lillington and Longmoore receive a national accolade as the people’s choice, please visit the Lillington and Longmoore page on the Green Flag Award website to register your vote at: http://keepbritaintidy.org/GreenFlag/GreenFlagAwardSites/London/Default.aspx?parkID=243
