Maida Vale leaps into action

Wheatfield House residents in Maida Vale can enjoy the late summer in a newly improved garden area thanks to the estate team leaping into action there.

A small team of volunteers rallied around to plant lavender, begonias, carnations and herbs such as thyme and basil in the under-used communal garden.

Kay McCormack, chairperson of the Maida Vale residents association and recent winner of the CityWest Homes Great Neighbour award, lent a hand together with resident Jacqueline Lewington. Seven year old Terry Beecher, daughter of estate services manager Marc, also spent the last days of the summer holidays helping out.

The CityWest Homes Handyman service turned up to prepare the garden shed doors for a new coat of paint.

The next part of Maida Vale's 'leap into action' will take place on Monday 12 September 2011 when the handyman service will complete the shed door painting. They will also varnish the picnic tables in preparation for a 'Celebration Tea party' which will start at 2.00 p.m, this will be held in the the rear garden of Wheatfield House. All volunteers are welcome and especially anyone that is willing to dress up as the Mad Hatter!

If you'd like to volunteer or just attend the tea party, please contact Montserrat Fas, village manager on 020 7245 2223.
