Supporting National Tree Week
Amidst a mass of white, a corner of Queen’s Park went green in winter as three new flowering cherry trees were planted. Ward councillors Patricia Mcallister and Barrie Taylor braved the snowy weather to plant the trees which were paid for by CityWest Homes.
Westminster Council’s arboriculture team and contractors, Gristwood and Toms, also attended the event.
In addition to supporting national tree week, this project is part of a wider greening project run by CityWest Homes and local residents taking place throughout the Queen’s Park and Mozart area.
Other highlights include supplying window boxes to 20 older residents to brighten up the street properties and running a grow-your-own fruit and veg scheme on a piece of land on the Mozart estate.
