Aids and adaptations

Can my home be adapted to make it easier to live in?
More info
CityWest Homes works in partnership with Westminster City Council to support our tenants to live as safely and independently as possible. Our aim is to provide the right homes to meet local needs. There is a wide range of specially designed equipment or minor adaptations that can be made to promote independence such as grab rails, shower seats and door intercoms. If you are a council tenant and need a more significant home adaptation to give you the freedom to access your home and the facilities within it, you can contact Social Services Customer Services Centre for an assessment of your need on 020 7641 1175. Due to the demand for adaptation to homes, it is necessary to have a prioritisation system. The occupational therapist will allocate a priority based on your need and then send the recommendation to the building and property services team at CityWest Homes. Because of the increasing demand, we can only carry out works immediately for tenants with the highest level of need. The others will be progressed in date order. Other Westminster residents who require adaptations may be able to receive financial help for the Disabled Facilities Grant. Find out more about the support offered by visiting the westminster council website.
