Lisson Green Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) have opened a brand new office in the heart of the estate.

Funded by CityWest Homes, the relocation will ensure that TARA is central to the community, allowing residents to easily get involved in the valuable work they do to support and build community spirit.

The association, which represents residents on the estate, will benefit from additional space for committee and resident meetings, enabling them to continue organising local events, activities and managing community buildings. Residents will also be able to drop in and talk directly with their residents association, working in partnership to turn plans and projects into reality.

TARA

For many years TARA has had huge impact in Lisson Green, running and hosting social activities for both the elderly and the young. This includes coach outings to the countryside and seaside, an over 50s club, young children’s plan association, children’s pantomimes and Christmas parties.

CityWest Homes is committed to supporting residents’ associations. Funding the relocation and refurbishment is a key part in providing the community with the space and resource they need to make their neighbourhood and community a place where they are proud to live.

Chair of Lisson Green Tenants and Residents Association, Fiona McCreedy said: “The move to a more central location will help us to better represent our residents in Lisson Green, attract new members and allow us to carry on providing events and activities that bring the community together. It marks a great start to the year for the estate and we would like thank CityWest Homes for making the move possible.”

CityWest Homes Executive Director, Strategy & Planning Andrea Luker said: “We are pleased to support Lisson Green Tenants and Residents Association and fund the office relocation and refurbishment.

“TARA works at the heart of the community and they play a vital role in creating a place where local residents are proud to live.

“We look forward to seeing the association grow into their new space and continue their excellent work.”

The grand opening took place on Thursday 1 March and was attended by local residents, the Lisson Green Tenants and Residents Association committee and CityWest Homes’ staff.

Residents can contact the Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) via telephone, email or by dropping in.
