Three green spaces managed by CityWest Homes have been recognised as some of the UK’s finest after receiving the international Green Flag award.
Lillington and Longmoore Gardens, Lisson Green and Churchill Gardens all received the award which recognises the excellent management of green spaces.
This is the twelfth consecutive year Lillington and Longmoore Gardens has been honoured with the award, whilst Lisson Green received it for the sixth time and Churchill Gardens for the third.
This international award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.
CityWest Homes works in partnership with residents to help create their award-winning spaces, which are among a record-breaking 1,883 UK parks and green spaces to receive the award.
Notable features of the award-winning spaces are the various landscaped flower beds, with Lillington and Longmoore’s colourful Jubilee garden having been created after a green fingered resident suggested a revamp of the area and succeeded in getting the Duchess of Norfolk to open the garden upon its completion.
Michael Stewart, Estate Services Team Manager at CityWest Homes said: “We are really pleased to have retained the Green Flag status across our estates as we put such effort into maintaining these spaces for our residents.
“We want our green spaces to be a place to enjoy away from the hustle and bustle of the city and will keep striving to make sure they are maintained to the best possible standard so they can be enjoyed and celebrated by our residents.”
International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award scheme, with more Green Flags awarded this year than last year.
“Each flag honours the thousands of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award. We are proud to have so many wonderful green spaces in the UK for people to enjoy, and hope that next year, we award even more flags.”
