Westminster residents are being helped into the world of work thanks to CityWest Homes’ employment service, which is funded by CityWest Residential.

The service, which is run by CityWest Homes and fully-funded by CityWest Residential, is free to all Westminster residents, providing them with advice on writing CVs, job interview preparation and job searches.

Last year alone the service helped over 90 residents to find work and supported a further 60 with advice and information. Since the start of 2018 residents have also had the opportunity to apply for apprenticeships and employment with CityWest Homes’ contractors through the service.

Thanks to CityWest Homes’ long-term repairs and major works contracts which began last year, there will be over 400 training, apprenticeship and full-time employment opportunities for Westminster residents over the next 10 years.

Westminster resident Ali sought advice from the employment service and was put forward for an interview with Morgan Sindall Property Services, who deliver all in-flat repairs across CityWest Homes’ properties.

Ali said, “I was looking for apprenticeships with CityWest Homes and got in touch with the employment team to find out more, I met with an advisor and they put me forward for an interview.

“I am really enjoying the apprenticeship with Morgan Sindall. I’m learning new things every day, I get the opportunity to meet other experienced engineers and am surrounded by great mentors who want to help me learn and progress my career.”
