Fire Door Safety Week (24 - 30 September 2018) is an annual campaign designed to engage and educate building users of the critical role of fire doors.
Fire doors are a crucial part of the passive fire protection of every building. They save lives and property. A fire door ensures that should a fire break out, it can be contained in a “compartment”. This keeps the fire and smoke trapped for a defined period, allowing time for people to get out and make the fire easier to tackle.
As supporters of Fire Door Safety Week, CityWest Homes works hard to ensure all our homes are safe and secure. Regular fire safety inspections are carried out throughout the year, at all our buildings, with safety always a top priority.
Be Safe. Be Smart. Remember these 3 simple fire door safety rules...
- When you go to bed, shut your doors
- In the event of fire, make sure all fire doors are closed
- If you think anything is wrong with a fire door, report it
If you have any queries about any fire doors within your building or home, or you see any damage to our existing fire doors, such as damaged smoke seals or gaps between the door and its frame please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org. We will arrange for the door to be inspected and any remedial work to be carried out.
