Our residents are invited to a Healthy Hearts day, a family event taking place at The Stowe Centre from 12.30pm – 4.30pm on Thursday 31 May.
Healthy Hearts is your local council funded cardiovascular disease prevention programme. Cardiovascular disease is the technical term for conditions such as heart attack and strokes, commonly caused by poor life habits such as lack of activity and a poor diet. People who have cardiovascular disease in their family have an increased risk of developing the condition.
On the day, there will be plenty of Healthy Hearts activities run by the delivery staff. From healthy recipes to taste, a stall providing expert dietary advice for the family and a free health walk on the day.
When looking to make health changes in the home, support of family is important, so bring all your family along to learn about a healthy lifestyle together.
Other activities include:
• Activities for children (balloons and face painting).
• Physical activity tasters (rowing etc.)
• Health partners and stands
• FREE raffleball
• Goody bags.
