CityWest Homes is supporting residents to get online by holding free Tea & Tech digital workshops across our estates. Whether you are a complete beginner, or just looking to update your skills, all residents are welcome to join us.
We are running the following courses:
- how to stay safe online
- using email and apps
- online shopping
- how to video call.
On the day, our team will also demonstrate how to make the most of your devices, including how to download and share photos, set up safe passwords, create group chats and how to run important software updates.
So far we have held eight sessions and residents of all ages have taken part. One resident said it was wonderful to learn the skills to video call their family abroad, while another added “the session was very compact and interesting.”
Rukshana Ali, resident engagement coordinator, has been leading on the programme. She said: “Residents who have attended have told us they found the sessions to be useful. Many had questions about how to use certain features on their device, be it phone, laptop or tablet. Others were excited at being able to learn how to shop online in a safe way and connect to loved ones all over the world without it costing them a penny.”
Tea & Tech sessions will be running throughout March 2019. The list of dates are below:
