Westminster City Council working in partnership with CityWest Homes has held the first of two Open Door Days on 26 November and 1 December 2018. These free events were open to all residents in Westminster homes and provided a fantastic opportunity for them to discuss their housing needs and meet those who provide their services.
Across the two events over 200 residents attended, giving valuable feedback on what they cared about most when it came to the future of housing in Westminster.
As well as being able to talk to CityWest Homes teams, residents could consult with contractors and key partners in person. They were also able to view the range of community initiatives on offer which included apprenticeships and well-being schemes.
Fire safety experts were also on hand to answer questions, while staff from the contact centre CityWest Connect addressed specific issues.
Feedback from residents was hugely positive; many commented they felt reassured that the services were improving. One resident also added “these open days are great because they help us to deal with all our queries, from different departments, in one place.”
Joe Joseph, director of resident services said: “I would like to thank everyone who was part of organising and helping at these two Open Door Days. The atmosphere was fantastic and we received some valuable feedback on how residents would like to see their services run.
“Events like these are important to us. They provide the opportunity for staff and residents to consult face to face.”
Further Open Door Days will run across the north and west areas throughout January 2019 – February 2019.
